My Secret
By Arlene Levin

I've always been a little slow.
Slow, yes, but with an undeniable enthusiasm.
I'm able, at least, to present
An elevated competence.
With that I move forward
Waiting against discovery.
When energy declines
I miss my own steps.
Secrets once held tightly
Can loosen and fall,
Shattering on a cold stone floor.
I've always been a little slow.
It's a secret.
No one knows but me.
And I won't tell, yet.
I truly love the abstract; the openness to interpretation; 'food for thought' leaves me guessing.
